5th to 9th June 2018 .....Back In Las Vegas.....

Hello again blog watchers.....Yorkieman and I have arrived back in Las Vegas to collect our home from home from storage and once more hit the road for another US road trip....
Most of you will know this will be a bitter sweet road trip as we are planning to sell our US home when we get back east....
The main blog photo is the first "tow" from the lot at Lakeside RV Sales in Anderson South Carolina and the beginning of our 6 years of adventures...
This and next pic is the stunning landscape of Southern Utah taken from our Virgin Atlantic 747....
I watched The Greatest Showman for the second time and think I enjoyed it even more, fabulous film also Finding Your Feet a funny/sad film for our age group !!!
Hitchin' Post RV Park, North Las Vegas, it is 102F or 39C and it has been a challenge getting the fridge cool enough to stock up on supplies, thank goodness for a/c....it is at times like this that we have so much admiration for the stoic early settlers....
As usual when we stay here we are fascinated by the aerial activity from Nellis Air Force Base, this evening we saw two "Osprey" planes going into land....
We have supplies, the rig and truck are washed and waxed and we are ready to head out north to Baker, NV...
Saturday 9th June...
Back on the road again....cue song courtesy of Willie Nelson...
Our route today is the US93 north......just outside of Vegas and no it's not a lake but a solar farm....
And the open road, country music on the radio and we are happy...
We pass through small communities and farms and a very pretty National Wildlife Area but not able to get a good pic...
We pass signs for Major Deer Crossing, Open Range Grazing, & Falling Rocks !!
Our road snaking over the Delemar Mountain range....road elevation 6,297ft....driving along in our nice clean truck and trailer and we hit a swarm of bugs...it's happened before but really is quite a "shock" as sounds like gravel being thrown at the windshield...
At the town of Caliente, a very neat small town, there's a bit of excitement as a huge gathering for a "road" race of customised ATVs....
The next and last 120 miles of todays journey are across the fertile Lake Valley (elevation of 6,140ft)....

Yes snow on the mountains just a few miles from our home for the next 2 nights at Border RV Park near Baker, Nevada....called Border RV as it is literally on the border of Nevada and Utah....
It's now a pleasant 84F/29C but the wind is really strong and stays that way for most of the night....no cook out tonight, thank goodness for our George Foreman !!!
Good to back on the road...
Until the next post...cheers from
Yorkieman and Mrs Blogger....
