Castle Rock and apparently an affluent town mid way between Denver and Colorado Springs....

Yay not seen one of these for a while......a mile long coal train... We did the 1-470 loop road around Denver but still lots of traffic, road works and two shunts, all part of life on the road....

Pikes Peak is one of several fourteeners as mountains over 14,000ft are know locally....

Needless to say the air is thin and a nice cool 68F and stunning views....

Fabulous sunset this evening...... We had a great day out, both a bit bushed but enjoyed our sundowners and loving the peace and quiet of the plains... Until the next post... The Chilled Campers....

Hi Sue & Michael,

Glad you are enjoying Horsham and all the goodies..
ReplyDeleteIt's Independence Day here but no local fireworks due to how dry everything is.....several wildfires in area and yesterday we had a storm front no rain just gusty wind and dust and wildfire smoke !! Apparently it was the hottest on record since 1975...comparisons with your heatwave and 1976 ???
We do get great sunsets here.....
Off to the Pot Luck Supper later...
Cheers..

Enjoy Pot Luck Supper. Make sure you have a bourbon to celebrate 4th.Just enjoying a glass of Macallan.X
ReplyDeleteWe did enjoy thank you and as ever great meeting fellow campers and swapping "road" stories....
DeleteNo bourbon but M does have a 1.75lt bottle of Tullimore Dew (on great offer at the liquor store in Colorado Springs) that he cracked open when we got back to the trailer !!
Macallan is still his favourite....xx
Back from a very sunny Norfolk which we enjoyed muchly! Got to Southwold and Brancaster which are worth a visit. Royal West Norfolk Golf Club at Brancaster, a top 50 links course - regrettably no time to play. Caught up now on all your piccies, I do love that wonderful blue sky, though must admit I have been in shorts for the last 6 days so cant complain! Keep trucking! A & M xx
